This site helps to explain more about this pilot program that is being rolled out and tested in certain markets/areas. The idea is to provide free and/or low-cost internet service to low-income individuals. This text was taken from the FCC.gov website: FCC Low-Cost Internet Broadband Pilot ProgramThe map below outlines the states and areas that the FCC has chosen to collect data on the Internet Broadband Pilot Program. The map shows a pretty big area of the country where they are going to test this program. It sounds like a great idea and hopefully it takes off and soon enough it will be offered everywhere.

I really hope they expand this program and fully fund it because free or low cost internet would be awesome. It's about time they reduce the costs of broadband and allow all people to access it.
