Has anyone ever PERSONALLY used their ebt card out-of-state like on a trip or day-travel and it raise any red flags or problems from the local social service agents? Do they ever audit your purchases? My issue is that if I were to go on a day trip or over night travel to the bordering state, can they use the fact that I "traveled" as reasons to audit my purchases and SNAP case? I don't want to mess up my benefits by using them in another state, but I have a chance to tag a long on a road trip, basically free of charge and all I have to worry about is clean clothing and food..
Who has used their SNAP in other states with no problems? The last thing I want is the Social services saying I lose benefits because I traveled while being unemployed and claiming no income. any help is appreciated. If I do go on this trip, it wont be for a week, so I have up until then to get a good understanding of if its okay. And please don't tell me to ask the social workers if its okay because I don't want to raise suspicion that I am traveling while being unemployed and they dig deeper into my case. idk, does it automatically trigger some sort of extra surveillance when I buy food on a out of state trip?

yup you can use your food benefits to shop in a completely different state. I think some states may require you to provide proof you are still living within the state that originally issued you benefits, such as a DL or rent slip, just to make sure there isn't an error anywhere in your file/case.
I have used my Florida food stamps card when out of town in neighboring states and never had any problems so the OP should be in the clear.

-j.w. j.w., To answer your question, I can 100% assure you that: Yes, your food stamps can be legally used, without issue, out of the state the benefits were issued. To clarify the issue with legal-government statements, you can find the answer on this page of the USDA's website: www.fns.usda.gov/snap/facts-about-snap
